William Simpson, a labourer, who shot Frost, a passenger on the Metropolitan Railway and tried to throw him out of the carriage, on August 9, was sentenced to twelve years. He appealed on tho ground of the severity of the sentence, and the Court of Appeal increased the sentence to fifteen years.
