A cloud-burst occurred on Mount Vesuvius causing torrents of water and mud to descend on Torre-dcl-Grcco, tho town at its foot, a short distance from Naples. Two families were buried. Five bodies have been recovered. Several places in the Salerno district also suffered and railway lines were injured and telegraph wires broken.
