Hughes states that Government approves of the High Commissioner’s suggestion of an Atlantic cable for the Commonwealth, but he did not know if it was practicable. A report was, being prepared. JEWEL ROBBERY. (Received Oct. 24, 8.35 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Oct. 24. Burglars stole £7OO worth of jewellery from M’DougnU’s, Collins Street.
