Tho Newport Labour: Conference has closed. • Among tho many briefly discussed resolutions carried was ono that any child certified to bo badly nourished should be compelled to attend school and obtain the meals provided for chilren, and.also bo fed 'during the holiday. It was also resolved that it should bo obligatory on local education authorities to provide schools with effi.ciont baths. i Resolutions were carried in favour of the nationalisation of railways, and waterways, and against all forms' of militarism. ' The conference voted the. Labour members of the House of Commons £6OO for tho 1908 session and £3O to each member for the autumn session of 1909. Ordinary parliamentary maintenance cost £6123. The year’s subscriptions to the parliamentary, fund totalled £13,826, and'there is a balance in hand of £14,755.
