He declared: "Wo want ‘a best man government, ’ independent of party or race. Ponding the repudiation of ‘Merrimania’ by Mr. Botha or the responsible leaders, the Progressives must buckle on their armour.” Dr. Jameson is unable to believe Mr. Botha would head a Government planned by Mr. Merriman.
