At the . once Court to-day Joseph William Lance Lintsberg was charged that on or about January 7, being then town clerk of North Invercargill, h« stole £B9, the property of the borough. Accused was remanded on bail.STATE AND TAUPIRI COALS. WANGANUI, Feb: 12. It was stated at a public meeting lost evening that in consequence of the long distance freights, the State coal here is unable to compete against the Taupiri article, and that the department is losing business. , ‘ •' THE WANGANUI RIVER. WANGANUI, Feb. 12.1 Pipiriki House, which was destroyed by fire some months ago, has been replaced. It is a fine commodious structure, and is well appointed. The house is now opened to a largo number of tourists who are patronising the Wanganui River and visiting the .Waitomo Caves. ’
