IN ST. PAUL’S CATHEDRAL. UNVEILING CEREMONY. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. (Received Feb. 11, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 10. Two hundred persons were present at the unveiling of the , memorial panel to Mr. Seddon in the crypt of St. Paul’s, including Mrs. Morice (Mr. Seddon’s daughter), the Mayor of St. Helens, Mr. T. Glover, member for St. Helens, Lord Strathcona, High Commissioner for Canada, Mr. J., M’Call, AgentGeneral for Tasmania, the Countess of Ranfurly, Major Robinson, and many New Zealanders. Prior to the unveiling the Duke of Argyll fend Sir Joseph Ward’s and Mrs. Seddon’s cablegrams, and delivered an eloquent eulogy. The memorial, he said, had been erected as a mark of affection for the man and in respect for the statesman. Following Sir George Grey’s brave advice, Mr. Seddon became the most trusted leader in all Australasia. He gave no uncertain voice when the call came to prove the union of the Empire, and New Zealand responded nobly, .sending ten contingents to South Africa. His spirit, still , guides New Zealand’s councils. She isiforemost in the desire to be represented in our fleets. Now in the centre of the Empire ho ’ served we honour his memory and gratefully record his services for King and country. We revere 1 his example and deplore his loss. Mr. Hall-Jones, on behalf of the people and the Government of .Now Zealand, committed the ■ memorial to the Dean and Chapter’s charge.
