The chairman (Mr. E. Norclon) stated that £SOO was ample to finance the tour. In lengthy remarks regarding the attitude of the Canterbury Association, which holds the time is inopportune for the visit, tho chairman said that the Canterbury Association’s attitude was more or loss of an insult to the management committee of tho New Zealand Association. At tho annual meeting it was decided to take the preliminary steps in connection with the tour. Canterbury’s delegates voted in favour of the motion 'and tho foolish people who constituted the executive of the Canterbury Association were stultifying themselves by their present attitude. As to the statement that the English team could not tench tho local men much, it seemed to him altogether too ridiculous for consideration.
