A COSTLY MISHAP.

AUCKLAND HARBOUR WORKS. Per Press Association AUCKLAND, Fob. 10. At about 1.30 o’clock this morning, 350 feet of the northern face of the reclamation area at Freeman’s Bay, which is part of the wharf extension scheme, collapsed. The taco was composed of fetro-concreto piles and concrete slabs, Tho Harbour Board had been pumping the spoil from the dredge into the reclamation area and evidently tho pressure from tho spoil and the‘water against the face was too heavy and at low water it gave way. The damage is estimated at not less than £25,000.
