Bates' forecast for the 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day is as follows: Easterly moderate to strong winds ; glass little movement ; indications for fine weather ; probably a very cold night; tides low; sea moderate; a storm area appears to be approaching from the westward ; expect low pressure due on or about Tuesday ; westerly winds, freshening ; expect unsettled and cloudy weather preceding.
