At a meeting of the North Cantorbury executive of the Fanners' I*llloll a' resolution was received from the Ashburton branch to the effect that the granting of free school books by i. he department ha-" f ' ' ' ■ '•••fji pose, and suggested ihut tne gruiu be r\ •• . -juod. It was pointed out that . . children were not. allowed to take tho hooks home, and parents had to buy other books for home use.- After discussion it was resolved to forward the result to the Minister for Education.
