1 Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Sept. 15. The third day's play of the New Zealand golf championship meeting at Cornwall links was productive of some good contests and some surprise 3. The professional matches were commenced first, but did not attract a great deal of attention, owing to the draws being such that winners could be easily forecasted. F. G. Hood (Auckland professional), on his play today, would have done less than 80 had the matoh continued aver the full course. Clements (the open champion) was also playing well. Arthur Duncan (of Wellington) beat Barraud (of Manawatu) by. 4up and 3to play. It is expected that A. Duncan and Bidwill will have a close run for the championship. ' The "bogey handicap played to-day saw some fine golf, and Burns followed up his morning's win by returning the excellent score of 5 up on bogey fron scratch and winning the match.
