CITIZENS IN PROTEST.
Per Press Association WELLINGTON, June 10. A meeting of protest against the postponement of Parliament is to be hold at the Town Hall on Tuesday evening. The Mayor will preside, and all the Wellington city members of Parliament will speak. The meeting v the outcome of a gathering of commercial and professional men held yesterday. Proceedings then wer© of a private nature, but it is reported that there was an unanimous opinion expressed that the postponement of the business of the country until September or October next, in order to allow tho Prime Minister to go to London, was altogether xn undesirable thing to do. It was resolved to put the matter' before the citizens. Hence the meeting. Mr. W. F. Massey, when approached by tho promoters, favoured the idea of tho mooting. The meeting yesterday agreed that the proceedings should be of the nature of a citizen's protest, and not associated with the OpoositioD party as such. There is a probability, however, of Mr. Massey being one of tho speakers.
