AGRICULTURAL CLASHES.

A SATISFACTORY REPORT

Mr. R. M'K. Morison, the Board's instructor, furnished a report . to the Education Board yesterday, on the work done at the various schools in tho Board's district where tho subject of Agriculture is being taught. He stated that first of all he would like to say that on the whole the results were highly satisfactory and very encouraging.. He started his.. first round of visits, for tho present term on September 9, and completed that round- on October 15. He had just now complet- j ed his second round of visits. As far! as the sizo' and shape of the ground available at the various schools would permit the following plan/ was adopted. At least .'four plots about 30ft by 10ft we're laid off, the longer axis of the] plots running east and west. These plots were divided by paths two feet wide. The rows run north and soxith across at least four plots, the whole df each row containing the same kind of vegetable, but under varying, conditions as to manure. No. 1, no nianiire; No. 2, superphosphate ; No. 8,. bdnedust; No. 4, special root manure. These ex- j l>eriments had been carefully carried i out and noted by the children. Altogether 1 .some fifteen varieties of farm ' and garden Vegetables were sown.
