INGLEWOOD.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) A considerable amount of interest Was taken in the election of the Bortragh Councillors. Four of the old members sought re-election, while fir* "neirblooded" candidates came- forward, with the result that an election was neees^ sary. Shortly after the poll closed a large number of people assembled oxrbside of the booth to await the result. At last this was announced, and it appeared that three of the old Councillors were returned and one rejected, Mr. Fawcett of the new blood heading the poll. The voting was as follows, the first six being elected:— R. Fawcett 231, G. W. Bennett 199, Gep. Toting 189 Joseph Gibba 163, H. W. Tarplee 161, A. E. Surrey 160, Gteo. R. Sutherland 158, D. H. M'DonaJd 129 and John Goller 95.
