A BIG APPEAL.
SYDNEY, March 26. Tho Lord Mayor is issuing an appeal to the people- of" tho State for a quarter of a million towards tho Dreadnought. Ho says that this amount, backed by the handsomo support he expects from the State Government, will relieve the State from tho stipma of selfishness or indifference. A strong influential committee has boon appointed to act with the Lord Mayor.
