"AN UGLY SUSPICION."
(Received March l' 7, 8.50 a.m.) LONDON, March 26. The Pall Mall Gazette declares that Mr. A.squith\i method of fencing Now Zealand's oiler has raided an ugly suspicion that while seeming to welcome the- offer it was really mocking and evading its purpose. Now Zealand ne\or intended to replace a vessel which otherwise would have boon built by British taxpayers.
If Now Zealand's generosity was merely emplcnod to further tho aims of the little navy party, bitter indignation would bo provoked.
