RAPPDTGS HEARD. By "Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. (Received Feb. 18, 8.5 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 17. A colliery explosion occurred at the West Stanley pit in Durham.. One hundred and forty miners were entombed. A tongue of flame destroyed gthe shafting. •There is no egress frdm the mine. llappings have since been beard, suggesting that there are men in one of the four seams still alive.
