CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 20. Fat lambs.— There was a much smaller entry of fat lambs than last week, and they were practically all of prime quality! Tho butchers outbid the export buyers, and a sharp rise in values took place, only ono lot belling as low as 13s Id, and all others from 15s to 19s 6d. Fat sheep. — The yarding of fat sheep was not so large as last week, and included somo good lines of wethers and ewes and shorn hoggets. The sale opened at last week's rates, and the operators, export buyers who were able to get a. few suitable lines, kept the market firm throughout. The range ol prices was: Wethers in the wool, 17s 9d to 24s 6d, prime shorn wethers 10s to 20s, others 13s Gd to 15s Gd, woolly ewes Us to 22s sd, prime, shorn ewes 13s Gd to 15s 2d, others 10s Gd to 13s. shorn merino wethers 13s 2d to 13s 7d. Fat cattle. — The supply of beef consisted of 286 head and included a large proportion of good quality. At the opening of the sale the demand was slack, and a number of p«'iis were passed. When values had been fixed there was a better tone, and prices finally improved about 5s per head compared with the previous week. The passed- in cattle were afterwards sold at satisfactory prices. The range of prices was: Steers £6 2s 6d to £10 10s, heifers £5 5s to £9, and cows £4 15s to £9, equal to 24s Gd to 27s Gd for prime, 21s Gd to 245, for medium, and 18s to 21s for cow and inferior per 100 lb. pi<r S . — There was a good entry ot all classes of pigs.- and a fairly keen demand. Choppers sold at £3 12s Gd, heavy baconers 60s to 755. smaller 50s to 55s (equal to' 5Jd to s:{d per lb), porkers 3os to 45s (equal to 5:Jd per lb), large stores 21s to 28s, largo weaners 18s to 22s Gd, smaller 10s to 14s, and a line of purebred Devons 255. Store and dairy cattle.— There was a small entry of store cattle, mostly light inferior sorts, and they met with a dull sale, at prices Gs to 7s per head below the previous week's rates. Fifteen to eighteen-months sorts made 26s to 345, two-year steers £2 18s Gd, two-year heifers £2 15s, dry cows 27s Gd to £3 2s. A medium entry of dairy cows of a poor class were dull of salo at £3 15s to £7 15s.
