THE WALLABIES' TOUR. LONDON, Nov. 2. LONDON, November 1. At Rugby football the Australian Wallabies defeated the Durham Pirates by four goals and three tries (29 points) to a dropped goal and try (7 points). The match was played at Hartlepool. Durham were good in the loose, but the Wallabies' back work was brilliant. In the first half Dix, Russell and MacKivatt scored tries, Carmichael converting two. After half-time Dix and Craig each obtained one try, and Russell two tries. AUSTRALIAN PROFESSIONALS BEATEN. LONDON. Nov. 1. In a Northern Union football match Dewsbury defeated the Australian League team by three goals (15 points) to nil. The Australians at times pressed strongly, but generally were outplayed. Messenger was suffering from an injury and did not play.
