FOG-SIGNALLING.
CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 9. The fog-signalling apparatus at Godley Hoad is practically finished. Yesterday it was inspected and passed by Mr. H. Lewis, engineer to the Public Works Department. The apparaius is not yet in commission, as tho regulation ammunition has not been procured and the periodicity of the shots has not been fixed. At present experimental charges are available, and tho period is smin 20sec. A supply of explosives is expected to arrive by tho Hinomoa soon.
