The Trades Union Congress at Not tingham censured Messrs John Burns F. Maddison and Henry Vivian, La bour members of the House of Com mons, for opposing the Right to WorlBill. Several delegates denounced tho Salvationist method of alleged under paying and sweating in the joinery depart ment of the rescue work, the competition injuring private firms and weakening tho position of trade unionism. The resolution was not pressed, as negc; Tho resolution was not pressed as negotiations with General Booth are proceeding. A socialistic resolution that the Congress amalgamate with the Labour Party and General Federation of Trade Unions -was overwhelmingly negatived. It was afterwards resolved that no member of the management committee of the- General Federation Executive Committee of the Labour Party should be eligible for election to the Parlia- ! mentary committee of the Trade Union Congress.
