NORTH ISLAND COMPETITION.

The fifteenth of the second competition promoted by the North Island Egg-laying Competition Association, Ltd., at Cambridge, was concluded on Friday, August 28. The number^ of eggs laid during the week was 1707, being an average of 25.86 eggs per pen. The total number of eggs laid since May 16 is 15,067, being an average of 235.86 eggs per pen. Leading pens to date are: — Light breeds: Harrison and Gratton, White Leghorns, 384 ; A. R. Browne, White Leghorns, 375 ; Waikato Independent, White Leghorns, 344; C. I).
