RAHOTU COMPANY.
The annual meeting in connection with the Rahotu Dairy Company was held on Friday. Mr A. Chapman (chairman oi* directors) presided. There was a good attendance. The -report' showed that during ths five months the factories were running 63,5191b5. of Tiutter-f at were received at the faqtotfy, and 109,5211b5. of cheese and 18,3981b5. of butter were manufactured. The balance-sheet showed tha* £2752 9s lid had been, paid out for milk, whilst the cheese and butter sold realised £3343 6s Bd. The company had been under heavy expense, the factory buildings and plant, and manager's and assistants' residences costing £4312 8s 6d. The chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and balancesheet, referred to the fact that the company had so far been under heavy expense, having been formed Jate in tho season. They now had a fine, up-to-date factory, and the prospects for a successful season were most favourable. He thought not only would the supply be increased, but a higher price would be obtainable for, their produce. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Messrs Newton , King and H. N. Chapman, retiring directors, were tho only nominees for tne vacant seats on the directorate, and were duly elected. * 3Mb- McKellar'was re-elected auditor, and his remuneration was fixed at £o ss. .. A motion that the number of directors should be increased from five to seven was lost. At a subsequent meeting of tho directors Mr Chapman was re-elected chairman. The company intends, our correspondent informs us, to beat the whey throughout the season, as it will begin cheese-making as soon as possible.
