THE RETURN FROM AUCKLAND.

The Press Association agent on the Parliamentary train travelling on the Main Trunk line from Auckland to Wellington telegraphed a.s iollows trom Waiouru to-day. _ The Fleet special left Auckland on the return journey to Wellington last night at 10/20, tho advertised time. Tlio train carries a few passengers more than on tho outward trip. It is due to arrive in Wellington at 6.10 p.m. f lhc train at the present stage of the journey is about half an hour behind time. The trip on this occasion is being made under weather conditions presenting a complete contrast to those prevailing on the outward journey. All day yesterday toirential rain fell in Auckland. Since the journey began rain has continued with but ono gleam of sunshine of half a minute's duration. Tongariro, Ngauruhoc, and Huapehu, which erstwhile were .seen to perfection, bathed in sunlight, were this morning invisible. The train sped over the Makatote viaduct on this occasion without stopping. A slight mishap occurred at Taumarunui early this morning. An engine which had boon despatched to water ran back too quickly, the result being a severe concussion which was felt throughout the train. Some of the windows in tho end doors of the carria^os w.io shattered and several passengers iuiKid < heir matutinal slumbers disturbed. Otherwise no damage was done. Lord Plunket and family and staff, who left Auckland yesterday morning, travelled a.s far as Taumarunui, where they stayed tho night. A train of throe carriages was to have been attached there to this train, but the load wa* too heavy. The ViceRegal party will follow later.
