NEWTON KING'S REPORT. Mr Newton King's weekly auction report is as follows: — At the Hay market on Saturday last, good store pigs, brought 17s to 235, slips 5s to 9s 6d, suckers 3s 6d to 4s 6d. Two springirig cows brought £6^2s 6d each. A trap was sold for £7 10s. Phaeton and pair of ponies, £50. At the mart there was a largo entry of poultry. Turkeys 4s to 6s 6d, geese 3s 3d, ducks Is 4d to 2s 2d^ hens Is to Is 9d, pullets Is 3d to 2s Id, cockerels Is Id to 3s Id, chicks 6d to lOd. Retail Prices. — Country settlers must understand that the New Plymouth | dealers sell at these prices for cash: Butchers' Meat — Beef: Sirloin, 6d, prime, ribs, sd; rump steak, Bdj beef, from 3d to 4d ; corned beef > from 5d per lb.
