WAITARA.
April 16- — The monthly meeting of the Waitani ' School Committee was hold on Wednesday evening. Present: Messrs G. Pearce (chairman), -15. C. Lawrence, , W. F. Jenkins, C. M. Townsend, It. W. White, and \V. H. iJedward, Tho tfklucation Board informed the Committee that tho provision of a bath-room at tin- master's residence- would be attended to. Mr. Terrill. caretaker, was granted an increase of salary. The headmaster was authorised to procure attendance cards to be presented to each scholar for regular attendance. Tho Inspector's report was considered as satisfactory. The Committee- expressed appreciation of tho capable manner in which the school had been conducted as shown by the Inspector's report. Accounts amounting to £14 11s lOd were passed for payment. A mooting of persons interested in tho formation of a second Tennis Club in Waitara was hold in Mr Lund's office on Tuesday evening. It was decided to procure a piece 01 land and to begin the work of prep-iring the ground at once. A committee of five was appointed to arrange details. A further meeting is to be held at which officers will bo appointed. Mr Passau way appointed secretary pio tern.
