EASTER MANOEUVRES

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 14. Colonel Robin, Chief of tho General staff, returned to Wellington from the South to-day. Major Hume, R.N.Z.A., left for tho South to-night to act as coast defence commander an,d artillery staff officer during tho Easter manoeuvres of the Canterbury district. Colonel Tuson, Quartermaster-General, left Wellington for Auckland this morning to be present at the Easter manoeuvres in the North. Major Hughes is to attend the Easter manoeuvres on tho West Coast.

Following are the orders issued by Captain Bellringer, officer commanding the Taranaki Rifles: — The company will parade at the Drill Hall, New Plymouth on Thursday, 16th inst., at 7 p.m. Dress: Khaki, log* gings, overcoats (rolled) r haversacks, water bottles, and usual camp equipment. Officers and N.C.O.'s on Orderly Duties. — Subject to any alterations that may be found necessary, "the following officers and N.C.O.'s have been detailed for orderly duty as under: — Friday at -Daybreak to Saturday .— Battalion orderly sergeant, Sergeant Joseph (report to Captain Mill% officer of the day) ; company orderly sergeant, Sergeant E. E, Clarke. Saturday to Sunday. — Subaltern or "" the day, Lieutenant Humphries (report ' to Captain Wilkie, officer of the day) : company orderly sergeant, Sergeant Bruce. Sunday to Monday. — Company orderly sergeaVrt, Sergeant Pycroft. Monday to Tuesday. — Battalion orderly corporal, Corporal ; company orderly v sergeant, Sergeant Joseph. Company orderly corporals will be detailed later. Baggage. — On disembarking from the train the colour-sergeant will detail two men to report to Sergeant Kelleher (Eltham Rifles), commanding tie baggage guard. Parade States.. — The colour-sergeant will see thajt a sufficient number of parade state forjns are taken. Lieutenant Leyer will hand a parade. s^ate to the adjutant on embarking on the train. Appointments. — The following temper, iry appointments during the manoeuvres have been made: — Lieutenant Lover to be acting-captain; ColourSergeant Lister to be acting battalion quartermaster-sergeant; Bugler Okey to he staff bugler; Sergeant R. J. Clark to he colour-sergeant; Corporal Bruce to be sergeant; Corporal Pycroft to be sergeant; Private O'Grady. to ho bugler. Officers will not take swords, nor N.C.O.'s arid men bayonets, to the Easter manoeuvres, N.C.O. -Roster>— On -embarking on the train the colour-sergeant will hand a list of N.C.O.'s present with the company to Battalion Sergeant-Major JLrmitage. Cook. — The company cook will report to the quartermaster-captain at the. railway station on Wednesday, lotb; inst., at 7 a.m. Field-glasses and Compasses. — All ofi- c ?rS'i N.G.O.'s, and men possessing held-glasses and compasses- wilT takV the same with them

Overcoats, etc.— All members of the corps not going to camp will hand m their overcoats and water bottles and Nj^gings to . ColpuirSergeant Lister* Ipese will be returned immediately after return from camp. Signallers.— Signalers will take their flags.'

The Guards held a parade last niffht at the Drill Hall. There was aS muster of the men under Captain Mais. At the conclusion of tho parade the men were supplied with regulation kit bags.
