INDIGNATION AT HASTINGS.

HASTINGS, April 10.The bakers' "coupon or cash" system meets with strong public disapproval owing. to the bakers demanding 4d cash from customers who decline to use' the coupons, which are sold at 3s 6d per dozen. Much correspondence has at>r peared in tho " local press. * A largely attended public meeting unanimously resolved : "This meeting is in favour of cash as against * credit wherever it is practicable; yet it considers > that the purchasing power of cash should equal that of coupons and .also that bakers should accept each other's coupons."
