PROPOSED DRASTIC LAW.

A Bill proposing to malsb it a felony to gamble on , a horse race was introduced into tlje Senate of New York State. Twonty-five voted for the measure and twenty-five -against. It was therefore defeated, the effect of the oven vote being to allow the law 'to remain as at present.
