THE TRAM-LINE SWINDLE. A DENIAL. By Electric Telegraph. — Copyright. (Received Oct. 12, 7.46 a.m.) , NEW YORK, Oct 11. In connection with the New York railways enquiry Dolan and P. Widener and the trustees of Elkin's estate deny that they profited by Brady's sale of the Fulton and Wall Street Ferries Railway rights to the Inter-Borough Metropolitan Company. They declare that each lent William. C. Whitney £20:000 and that the cheques they received were in settlej ment of loan rind interest. / (Yesterday's cable stated that the New York Railway Company' exposures l s culminated in the testimony of Mr Anthony Brady. Ho stated that a comparitively worthless franchise, of the lin ••» called the Fulton and Wall Street Ferries Railway, which existed only on \paper, was sold to the Inter-Borough Metropolitan Company for ' £200,000. Brady received £50,000, and the balance was shared' amongst Ryan, Dolan, W. L. Elkins, H. Whitney and P. Widener, and two brokers, Moore and Schley.)
