OLD WRECK VISITED.

WELLINGTON, July 27.
The wreck of the Rangitoto, which sank off. Jackson's Head in 1873, was recently visited by, a diver in search of the large copper plates she was supposed to carry. The steamer was found overgrown with kelp and tho engines in a remarkable state of preservation, but thickly encrusted with submarine growth.. No copper was found, but the afterhold contained a Jarge quan- » tity of liquor of various sorts. "" Some was sampled and found to liave im-* proved by submersion. The brandy was • not improved. No money was discovered in the strong-room, it having been re« moved when the vessel was abandoned
