HIGH SCHOOL CONCERT.

The boys of the New Plymouth High School intend undertaking a tour to • Wellington during the coming recessMatches will be played at Feilding, Palmerston North, and Wellington. On ; former occasions the boys have always pais theii" expenses out of pocket, but this year organised an entertainment to .raise ,tp finance the trip. The items, wjiich were as foli lows, were all rendered in goo&style : — "Sea, Songs" and "March Athaiie,," Whiteley Orchestra; song, "Off to Phi vladelphia," Mr Haslam; "Won't You Bny?" Miss Clarice Buckman ; "Old Madrid-?*' * Mr -Clarke; cornet, solo, Mr Saunders ; pianoforte solo, Mrs Pope ; gymtmstic^ "display and trick work, pupils; scenes from *'As You Like It," p#pilsH;; ■:- . , •;'"" * , ".' Mr Golding was the accompanist. The ..gymnastics were splendid, and reflected "great credit on the. instructor, .'.Mr L.ints. One, of the boys, lan Grant, showed exceptional ability. The sbenes ,frohv "As You Like It" wei-e very well acted, and provided 1 a good conclusion to a ! Very, enjdyaUe entertainment. Prior to the' last scene, Mr Ej'Pridham ; (rector), in the absence of the Chairman bf the High School Board, thanked the audiorice 11 for attending.
