NEW ZEALAND RACING CONFERENCE.

WELLINGTON, July 23.

At to-day's sitting of the Racing Conference it was decided that dividends should be paid on first and second horses in the proportion of 75 and 25 per cent, respectively. The Dates and Permits Committee reported that applications for new and additional permits were received from Papakura, Shannon, Carterton, and Wairarapa Racing Clubs. No permits being available, the committee could not make allocation. Application was received from the Dannevirke Jockey j Club for an additional permit, with th^ i suggestion that they should receive one of the permits at present held by Waipawa County Racing Club. The committee was unable %o make any recommendation. The Palmerston, Racing Club, having complied with the conditions proposed by the Dunedin Jockey Club, will be granted a permit. Dates of race meetings were approved subject to the following amendments: — Avon? dale and North Canterbury Jockey Clubs, to select other dates; Wellington Racing Club's spring meeting to be on October 17 and 19, summef meeting January 22, ,24. and 25, autumn meet Jng April 30 and May 2, winter meeting July 18, 22, and 25 ; Manawatu Racing jDlub to be permitted a third day at the Christmas meeting, the days to include December 26 and ,27, and a day prior to those days. The committee recommended that certificates should be granted to the Huntly and Hukurenui Racing Clubs; that the certificate of ,the Hikutaia Racing dub should ; be that the St. Andrews District Sports certificate should be granted; that no certificate should be issued to the Karamea Racing Club or the Redan Sports Club.
