To-day the Conciliation Board commenced the hearing of the dispute filed by the 'Wellington Operative Bakers' Union. The Employers' Union intimated through one of its representatives that it objected to tne presence of Mr Andrew Collins on the Board, as he was secretary and a member of the Workers* Union. The employers also objected to the outrageous demands filed. If. the demands were granted half the bakehouses in Wellington would, it was statted, have to close. No matter what the Board decided it was the intention of the employers not to take any notice of the Board, but to fight the matter out before the Arbitration Court.

The chairman, Mr P. J. O'Regan, warmly protested against this decision of the employers and condemned the unfairness of the remarks made. ' Eventually the employers' representatives withdrew. \
