SOUTHERN DIVISION SUPREMACY.

Patea and Hawera senior teams met again on Saturday at Hawera, to fight for the supremacy of the southern division. Neither team was at full strength. Hawera's already disorganised ranks were weakened further- by the absence of Greenbank (back), whilst the three Sheahan brothers did not play for Patea pn account of the 4®ath of a relative. The game wais not so good as that of the previous week from the spectators" point of view, there being a dearth }bf passing among the backs. On the whole Patea had the best of the game, Hawera not playing up to form. In the first spell C. Burke (Patea) scored a goal from a penalty kick at half-way, and in the second spell Patea scored a try from a forward rush. Patea thus won by 6 ,to 0. The team play off with Stratford for the senior championship of the province.

The selectors of the North Taranaki team were Dr. Fookes and Messrs D. Malone and A. Humphries..

Zealandia's seasons come and go In rammer's heat and winter's snow ; And spring unfolds her fresh green shoots ; And autumn brings her gift of fruits. Each change* is fraught with human ills, With coughs and colds and sudden chills ; But life is safe, and health is sure By taking Woods' Great Peppermint Cure. 15
