OAMARU, July 21. •The Oamaru Mail giv6s the following as certainties for the' professional football team: — McGregor,' Pearce, and Turtill (Canterbury), Smith, Wynyard, ; Jfodd, W. Tyler^ Cunningham, Francis, Gillett (Auckland); Eckhold and Johnston (Otago); Tyne, Cross, Wright, Byrne, and Kelly (Potone); Baskiville and Watkins ; ' Wrigley (Wairarapa),~.and. Colman r(Taranaki). WELLINGTON, July 21. . With reference to the Press Association message from Oamaru naming 21 players as certainties for the professianal ieam, ■BasksHtille, ©£ Wellington, who is understood to be connected with the undertaking^ . states that the list is not correct. WELLINGTON, July 22. I Officials of the New Zealand Rugby Union, questioned as to the list of members of the professional team published on Saturday, said a different list was also in circulation containing twentyfive names, and having three additional Auckland. men and one Taranaki player. These, Mr f A. JL Baskiville, secretary to learn', denied io be going with the team. The Union considers that Mr E. Wylie would not . nave stated in Sydney that the men had- toot- joined the professionals Unless they had given him their word. The Union declines to believe that eight or nine would have, signed the declaration with the intention of breaking st. It is not intended .to take any action at present, the Union preferring to trust in the honour of the players.
