FIRES IN INVERCARGILL.

STRANGE COINCIDENCES.

INVERCARGILL, July 21.

Shortly before 11 on Saturday night an unoccupied building in Leet Street was gutted. This is the seqond time this house, which is owned by Mr A. Gait,, has caught fire while unoccupied. The cause is unknown.

A six-roomed house in the same street, owned and occupied by O. E. Johnston, was completely destroyed at son Sunday morning The family was at the Bluff at the time. This house was also damaged by fire some months ago. The house was insured in; the Yorkshire office ai\d the furniture in the South British for £150.

Shortly after noon, an incipient fire in a four-roomed house in Esk Street brought tho brigade out again. They quickly disposed of tho outbreak. ' The insurances aro unknown.
