ARNST SUCCESSFUL.

At the McLean Regatta, R. Arnst won a £50 handicap, with five seconds start from the scratch man, Thoroughgood, and defeated W. Mitchell, sixt* seconds start, by a length. Arnst -had previously followed a 2J mile race between John Mitchell and John Searie, and when 100 yards from the finish spurted ahead of Searle, whom Mitchell defeated by ten lengths.

Webb is putting in good steady work, but being down to his proper weight, is not overdoing things.
