Mr* Lamb, one of the directors of the Bonithon Company, is expected from Wellington during the next few days. Work was recommenced *at the bore today, and a further consignment of 1,300 feet of casing is expected to arrive a fortnight Hence. The bore is now down 1000 feet. ! The drill on the Taranaki Oil and Freehold Company's property*, on, Carrington Road is still boring through very hard stone. The plant is reported to 'be working smoothly. ' The directors of the Taranaki Petroletlm Company consider that the work at the oil wells is progressing' favourably, and that when the water us finally overcome and the few feet remaining are drilled ,' both No. 2 and No. 3. boros ..should give very satisfactory "resets. No. 1 will shortly be cleanieq gut. " " In . preparation for this the oil in the tanks is being casked, and the tanks prepared for the 1 hew oil.
