The evidence so far. deal's with moneys paid 1 to Willis to secure leases. There' -are a number of charges! against Willis and Crick. One is that William Patrick Crick, as Secretary for Lands', and W. #, Willis, withW. P. Crick- 6fid Charles Bath, conspired amongst theffisdlvefg and with Peter Collison Close to corruptly and extorsively receive and take large sums of money from divers persons, applicants for land under the Crown Lands Acts. A second is in effect that W. N. Hill a cheque for £1677, and further, that <on the same day and date be made a similar* false pretence to Peter CoOHison. Close, by means of which be obtained a cheqjue for £1677, the property of W. C. Hill, from Close, with intent to 1 dejfraud. Willis 'is 'also changed with having on 16th February, 1904, at Sydney, offered, uttered, disposed of, and , put off a forged T signature, purporting to be tbe signature of John Reinhardt, with intent to defraud!. >
