On Saturday last at our poultry sale the pens were weJl filled, notwithstanding . the rough morning. We quote: .Hens Is to Is sd, cockerels Is 5d %o Is 9d, pullets 2s 3d, turkeys 5s €d, ducks Is 9d to 2s 7d, pigeons 7d. Fruit is meeting : with ' rather better demand, smaller quantities now conning to hand. Apples sold at "2s 6d to 5s 6d, pears 2s 9d to 3s 6d, bananas Us, mandarins Bs.
On Wednesday, we ,held a sale at Smart Road, on account of Mr Bransgrove, when excellent prices were realised. Pigs, which were . the leading feature, brought from £1 .16s to £5 5s for. well-bred breeding sows. !A lot of useful sundries were well competeid for. ... ■
