' BOARD MEETING.

At the mSonthly meeting of the Board, held on » Wednesday evening, at , the office of the chairman (Mr F. P. Corkill), Mr Sladdon (of Messrs Sladden arid Palmer) attended, and submitted plans of the < proposed improvements to the sports ground. Owing to want of funds it was decided to ask Messrs Sladden 'atod Palmer to furnish the Board, with an estimate and details of alternate plans, which will be submitted to a public meeting. The secretary (Mr E. H. Tribe) was instructed to notify the Board's tenants that all noxious weeds must be eradicated from the lauds unlder lease to them. Owing- to 1 changes in the Board s staff,' Mr Robert Mace was temporarily placed in charge of the grounds. It was decided" to call a meeting, to be held at an early date, to consider I the question of holding a floral fete in aid of the funds of the Board, such meeting to be held in the ladies' room at the grounds. The secretary was requested to write thanking the following for valuable donations and assistance : Mr Robert Govett, donation of £5 ; Mrs Weyergang, donation of valuable shrubs; Miss Woods, shrubs, etc ; auctioneers and banks football teams £4 6s 2di Builders' Association, £5 towards laSies' room ; Mr J. A. Maisey, architect, for plans and supervision ; and Messrs. Sladden and Palmer," for the interest taken by them in preparing plans for the improvement to the sports ground.

Mr S. Percy Smith was appointed to take charge of the grounds during the ensuing period. The secretary stated that the payment of the accounts passed would further increase the overdraft.

The caretaker reported to the Board that several improvements to the grounds were in progress, and that the planting of native trees was being done as Idme would permit.
