A large consignment of fruit and ornamental l&rees was cleared at satisfactory prices. The balance of the drapery stock found good prices, country buyers being unlimited. Out of 10 cases of drapery only two were left unsold. A clearing sale was held during the week at Mrs Kaston's residence, when tke whole of tho household effects were disposed of. Fruit is very quiet on acco'int of the cold weather. Bananas a*"c bringing 5s per. case, peanuts lid 'lh, apples 7s fid case, oranges 5s 6d to fis. A clearing sale was also held at Mrs E. Carter's residence, Courtenaystreet. Although- a wet day, there was a good - attendance, and everything changed hands Very satisfactorily. Potatoes (Canterbury prime), fbaff (Southern), oats, maize, peas, wheat, onions, ntc, at usual marltet prices.
