ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per Preas, Associafton. Auckland, May 22. A young man named Edward iStephenson was lulled instantaneously on Friday last at Yfaitomo (Thames) through a tree falling on him. A y\>ung man named Arthur Burzoot 22 years 'of age, died -this morning fronp, injuries .received.. on Monday l&st. deceased aJrfegecTihe injuries were caused in a fight. Inquiries are now being made. Wanganui, May 22. Kit ithe adjourned inquest on the body of William Ross, a verdict was returned that death was due to bloodpoisoning, slightly accelerated by exposure on *he river boat. Tho passengers stated that there was nothing in the deceased's appearance to indicate tha'^'he was seriously ill. Ho was sober when he cam© aboard, and had no liquor on the steamer. The doctors stated that a postmortem! revealed the fact that the man's death had perhaps been hastened by exposure, but thaifc he> was in a hopeless condition <bef ore he sfaxted 1 on tho journey. The jury were of the opinion that deceased had nos been drinking recently, and $hough>t the delay which had taken place in removing him to the hospital w>as regrettable.
