MOA ROAD BOARD,

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The Moa Road Board met on the •20th hist. Present : Messrs H. Trimble, Jleuwood, Corkill, Chamney, Chard, Jordan, Turner, and Mills. Mr George Bracegirdle wrote, askingfor royalty on the stone delivered on Kaimata Road South for repairs by ) . McGee, at the rate of 6d per yard. iSattlers in tho Waitara West Road District wrote, requesting the Board to take the necessary steps far raise a loan of £100 for the purpose ol paying for bridge erected by the Moa Road Board, and for which it is proposed fto tsfaSke a,9 igacuriity a special loan of -jfd#n tho £ for 26 years. The Secretary of the Treasury wroto •' spocial order making a special rate i a loan of £800 for the purpose of construction ol Manganui Road. The Government Insurance Department asked for a renewal of the accident poMcy. The Public Trustee wroto asking the Board to complete title to Riinutauteka deviations. The Treasury provisionally approved of a loan of £400 for Durham Road. A deputation of six ratepayers on the Bristol and Everett Roads complained regarding the heavy traffic over the bridge on tho latter road. Much damage had been done recently. Logs had been drawn by a number of bullocks, and the bridge could not stand the strain. Mr Chamney said such traffic should 'jo stopped at once. The Chairman said he was quite with the deputation, and the Board would do what i% could. 3Fr Turchie attended, and asked permission to shift his cowshed. — Grant>d. Proposed by Mr Turner and seconded by Mr Henwood, That a by-law be adopted to deal with the Bristol Road. That tho by-law be altered to include '••tion J2. and that bullock traffic be forbidden during the winter months.— Carried. The balance-sheet for the month was read and adopted.
