To-night will be a red letter night in the' theatrical,, hMtory of, New Plymouth, as it marks the ihvt appearance of Miss Nellie Stewart and Mr George Mu^grove's English Dramatic Company in the anxiously waited for '"Sweet Nell of Old Drury." This rwnmrlcabile play is 1 now on its sqco»d tour .through New Zealand, and ifls- success eVe'si smci\ it.^ Jifst production, has been phenomenal. Miss Stewart appears as Nell Cwynne, the orange girl of Old Dnuy and Mr Harcourt Beatty as King Charles 11. Mr Beatty has played this part throughout "Sweet Ne-HV career in Australia, and comes to us with a ver> high reputation. Miss Mercsmore Morris appears &< Lady Olivia Yernon, ]Miss Nannie Bennett as Lad}' Castlcmaiue, I Miss Davenport as the Duchoss oi [ Portsmouth, ]\liss Willard as TillVn, Mr IFarry Hill as Lord JcuYeys, Mr Mr James Lindsay as Ijord Lovel-xcc Malcolm Dunn as Sir Roger Fairfax, Mr Ijeslic Woods as Lord Rochester. Mr Dudley Clinton as Percival, Mr L<>opold Staee as Captain Clavering. Messrs Phil Goalcher and W. H. Coleman are the scenic artists, and the mounting, costuming and general appointments are. carried out in Mr Mus-o-i-tovc's refined and complcta manner. "Old TlJeidel'berg" is to be played tomorrow evening, the last night of the season.
