Ashburton, January 2s* A storm of extraordinary force passed over a portion of Ashburton shorty ly • after 1 o'clock to-day, destroying . everything in its track. Large sheds belonging to Messrs Coop and D. , Thomas were partly /demolished. The ! timber in Mr Tucker's yard was scat- , tered and carried a hundred yards away. Windows .in other business premises were smashed in by flying pieces of timber and iron,, and other damage was done. . \;
