(To the Editor). Sir,— You put your finger on a very pronounced'^mischief in your leader of Monday evening. Our childreb, our citizens, our parents, and our busy people in general are all too blind to the fact that youthful energy must have congenial outlet, and that failing the filling up of one's spare time with some useful occupancy or hobby, the harmful will surely take root, with'results such as you advert to. To put extra police on duty may now be needful, but surely this is but a clumsy expedient, and savours too much of locking the stable door after the horse is gone, to be worthy of an age which vaunts itself to the -tuna our twentieth century does. I commend your article to the re-perusal of readers.—^l am, &c., Anon.
