A Manawatu paper says that the recent police changes will necessitate the appoiutment of a number of additional sergeants. We understand that amongst those selected for promotion is Constable Toomey, of Feiiding (and formerly of Opunake), who has a particularly good record in the force. -
Mr J. A. Kinsella, chief dairy expert, has returned to A uckland from his trip to Australia and will be in New Plymouth on Monday. Constable Ryan, of Hawera, is doing temporary duty in towri iv place of Constable Young, who is again in the hospital suffieriug from sciatica.
